Master the complete sculptural process through three essential workflows. Start by building wire armatures—the skeleton of your work—then explore two distinct materials: monster clay for firm, detailed precision and sculpting wax for expressive, malleable forms. Each workflow gives you professional techniques to bring your three-dimensional visions to life.
Sculpting with wax
Master sculpting wax: heat, shape & refine. Learn temperature control, tool techniques & surface finishing for expressive 3D forms.
Sculpting with Monster Clay
Work with monster clay: firm, reusable material. Build detail, add texture & create durable sculptures with precision control.
Constructing armatures
Build wire armatures: create skeletal frameworks that support your sculpture. Learn wire bending, anchoring & structure stability.
The venue
This event is held at the What Is Happening Here Gallery in Amsterdam. This 2226m2 gallery space is located in a historical monument building, that used to be the ABNAMRO bank on the flower market; a place where the former queen of Holland, had her own private vault.
The atmosphere is completely relaxed. There's no pressure to produce a masterpiece or get it "right." This is a playground for adults—a rare space where you can experiment, make mistakes, test wild ideas, and see what happens. Collapse an armature, reshape your clay five times, start over with fresh wax. The point is exploration, not perfection. Some of the best discoveries happen when you're just playing with form and seeing where your hands take you.
